Last Thursday I had the chance to catch up with Junior to be Molly Tuozzo, one of the elders of the Wildcat lineup. We talked about her role a bit and about the state of the 2025 squad EARLLLLLLYYYYYY on in Winter/Spring workouts. Here is what the Junior 'bro had to say about "the state of the 'Cats"
On the atmosphere with the new group: "We train just as hard, that doesn't change, but this group chemistry is just so amazing and close already it's great. Considering how many new players we had at semester there are no egos everyone is so close and gets along.
Does she think she is a leader in the back-row now: "I guess because I'm the only one returning with starting experience yes, but I'm telling you we all are sharing in the responsibilities. I'm trying to pass along things I know, but this is a GROUP not MY GROUP we will be a TEAM yeah."
Is there a more positive vibe in the building this January with everyone healthy and the success they had in the portal etc: "I mean yeah we are excited, but again I think the biggest thing is that we all get along and we all are having fun together. It is just crazy how well this group has gelled it really is so I think that has made the vibe what it is more than anything else."
Who will be the vocal leader for this team next year, because it seems like more of a laid back crew: "I'm not sure I think that might be something we all need to take turns at being"
So there isn't someone who speaks up and really takes vocal charge when things aren't going so well? "Hmm you are right that is something that will definitely be figured out during Spring Ball as we go through tough times. Great point."
To me this just seems like a perfect Coach Skinner squad of course you have Brooklyn who is FINAlLY starting to get a little national attention, but otherwise the rest of the team is talented, but really unheard of and made the Elite 8: "Haha yeah your right"
