Elena Scott, a Louisville native and former standout libero for the University of Louisville, made an impressive professional debut last night as the starting libero for the Indy Ignite. Scott wasted no time making her presence known, tallying 12 digs and delivering an outstanding 75% perfect passing rate.
Selected as the ninth overall pick in the 2024 Pro Volleyball Federation Draft, Scott's transition to the pro level comes as no surprise. Her collegiate career was nothing short of remarkable, earning three consecutive AVCA All-America honors (2022-2024) and back-to-back ACC Defensive Player of the Year awards (2023, 2024). She dominated the ACC in her senior season, leading the conference in total digs (554) and digs per set (4.40).
Scott’s debut is just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting professional career. If last night’s performance is any indication, fans can expect plenty more standout moments from her in the future.
