New to the Board - Triple Crown 2025

New to the Board - Triple Crown 2025

Over the past three days, the Triple Crown has dominated the recruiting world as it always does. Hosting the best clubs with the best athletes year in and year out, this is a time of the year in which the elite truly separate themselves.

Of course, it’s great to watch the highest recruits dominate, but there are always teams and players that seize this opportunity to put their names on the map.

Here are ten players that stood out to us down in Kansas City!

MaKenna Corrie - 2027, Setter, AZ Rev 16 Premier

Corrie absolutely put on a show this weekend for AZ Rev 16 Premier. As part of a 6-2, Corrie only played defense in the backcourt and it was easy to see why. Seemingly every ball that was hit to her was dug perfectly up and to the middle of the court, giving the out-of-system setters the best possible ball to send out to one of their attackers. When she was setting the ball herself, her location was consistently excellent, getting her feet to the ball quickly and delivering a high and wide ball to her pins, along with a  This Class of 2027 setter is a certified stud!

Megan Hodges - 2028, Middle, Tstreet 16-Andy

Standing tall at 6’5”, Hodges already possesses the physical frame to be an elite athlete but she has the skill and IQ to back it up. Even playing up an age group, this middle dominated. Whether it was her quick first step that allowed her to close a majority of the blocks she put up or her high contact point that gave opponents little chance at slowing her down, Hodges shined bright.

Isabel O’Brien - 2027, Outside, NKYVC 16-1 Tsunami

When watching this 2027 outside, it is almost difficult to determine her primary position. In the front row, O’Brien packed a punch with her quick swing and spread her attacks out all over the court. Hammering balls down the line, through the seam cross-court, or rolling a ball to the back corner off the net, she can pull any of the cards. When she rotates to the back row as a six-rotation player, she excels in serve receive and defense, moving around like an elite DS. That DS-like player can then fire a ball down from behind the ten-foot line with ease. Versatility is such a key trait to have and this rising star is the definition of the word.

Evelyn Igbenebor - 2027, Middle, PVA 16 Elite

Representing PVA 16 Elite, Igebenebor caught our eyes right away. Although she is technically undersized at 5’11”, her vertical more than made up for it. She got up and over the net with ease and had a superb press. On the attacking side, her athleticism was on full display; her burst allowed her to get on top of balls and hit any angle she wanted with speed and precision. If she wasn’t on your radar before, she should be now!

Makenna Barnes - 2027, Outside, MIZ LB 16 Rockstar

Just like her club title, Barnes was a rockstar this weekend. Her name of the game was power and she didn’t shy away from it once. Serving with intensity from the back line and swiftly banging balls through the block, this attacker showcased her shot selection and high-level decision-making. We are excited for her to carry this momentum and see where it takes her!

Pulelehua Laikona - 2027, Libero, AZ Storm 16 Thunder

Flying around the backcourt, Laikona was hard to not notice. In serve receive, she always gave her setter a perfect pass, letting her dish it out to any hitter and make the offense unpredictable. On defense, Laikona seemed to read the minds of opposing attackers, stepping into seams simultaneously with the contact on the other side of the net. She possessed elite range and is without a doubt one of the best back row prospects in her class!

Addison Lefeld - 2027, Right Side, AVC CLE 16 Red

Right-side hitters are sometimes overlooked, but there is no overlooking this 2027 pin hitter.

As most opposites do, Lefeld only plays three rotations, but she takes full advantage of her time in the game. She excels at tooling the block and finding a way to score. Her stock definitely went up this weekend, and we look forward to following her in the future!

Isabella Borgio - 2027, Outside, Mintonette Sports - m.61

We are still hearing echoes from the contacts of this Mintonette stud's attacks. Borgio carried a heavy swing and used a wicked snap to maneuver her swings wherever she pleased. What impressed us most, though, was her performance from the service line. Seemingly, every time she sent her floater over the net, it would force the opponent out-of-system, giving her team an advantage in the point right away. Her consistency and strength impressed us big time!

Sanai Severloh - 2027, Middle, Forza1 North 16 One

Highlighted in our Day 1 standout list as well, Severloh was impossible to leave off this list. After watching countless games, our entire staff agreed that this brilliant 2027 middle was the real deal. Absolutely demolishing balls left and right, Severloh left dents on the floor along with the jaws of the entire audience. Doing basically whatever she pleased through the middle, she made a strong case to be considered one of the best ‘27s in the KC Convention Center!

Emme Moser - 2027, Libero, Tri-State Elite 16 Blue

Last, but not least in the slightest, we have Moser. Playing against some of the top competition, she equaled the playing field for her squad. Keeping them in countless rallies with outstanding digs, Moser shined bright. Showcasing spectacular bend and agility, every ball was in play for her!

Though they may be “new to the board”, these athletes are undeniably here to stay and become big, or even bigger, names around the country!
