The Sunflower State - Kansas Stars

The talent is constantly growing around the country as our sport continues to gain center stage attention. With more athletes competing, the stronger the competition becomes in each state. Next up on our state by state series, we will be looking at the strength that comes from Kansas. Kansas has been a solid volleyball hub for a while. With powerhouse clubs like Dynasty and KC Power, there's always quite a few P4 athletes that grab attention in every class. The past few years were littered with them, these upcoming classes are no different.

This week, let’s take a look at our top 8 PPV athletes who currently have a player profile on our site!

Taylor Stanley - 2026 Opposite, KC Power, PPV 250

We’ve talked a lot about Stanley’s rise in the PPV world on our site over the past few months - and it’s no surprise why. High flyer with TOP scores to match - this opposite for KC Power is headed to Kansas and is a great in-state grab for the Jayhawks. Her length makes her the perfect right side and ability to score off of any route in the front row. We are thinking this rise is just the beginning of a long, and fruitful career.

Riley Riggs - 2027 Outside, Dynasty, PPV 214

Riggs is one of those 27’s that we are so excited to watch her process this summer and see where she lands. She is a great 6 rotation outside with the ability to score anywhere on the court. Her Serve and Pass game is a strength for sure, in fact it feels like she gets better when she has to pass and then attack the ball? Rare for an outside of her age. Her power and placement allow her to be a go-to for her Dynasty team. We are sure this is a name we will be hearing come up in the volleyball world come June 15th.

Kya Behr - 2027 Setter, Fight Club, PPV 198

While competing in USA may not always get all of the looks in comparison to the Open Courts, Behr is making sure she and her Fight Club teammates get noticed. When watching film on Behr, she seems to do a great job of staying neutral and holding the blockers for as long as she can. Her ability to distribute a consistent ball allows her attackers to always have options at the net. Her strength also seems to be setting behind her, the quick release allows for her slide in particular to be lethal. Not only that, but she seems to be an energy bringer which we love from a QB.

Reese Maslowski - 2027 Outside, MAVS KC, PPV 155

Maslowski reminds me of a typical Midwest pin - a smart, crafty attacker with great ball control. She thrives on hitting high and to the deep corners of the court and is great when she gets to go crossbody. Another favorite shot of mine that i’ve seen is her ability to tool, when she’s backrow in particular, she somehow finds the outside fingers of that lone middle blocker and scores, what feels like, at will.

Brookelyn Hatton - 2025 Libero, MAVS KC, PPV 148

We can see what Arizona saw in Hatton, a very steady ‘bro in the 2025 class. She seems to read the game well and digs tough shots with ease allowing for her MAVS KC team to be in-system pretty often. Excited to watch Hatton do her thing out in Tuscon this upcoming fall.

Anniston Clark - 2027 Middle, KC Power, PPV 120

Clark is a fun one to watch for this KC Power team. Middles sometimes are categorized just as big bodies that score well, but another intangible for Clark is that she is a sparkplug for her team. She scores well in a variety of areas along the net and is always ready to ‘give it back’ (energy) to her setter after a great swing. Keep watching this one as she continues to rise in the ranks.

Taylor Macdonald - 2026 Middle, Shockwave, PPV 104

Montana State got a really nice pick up in Macdonald. When watching film, I was a little confused at first seeing that she was a Middle but playing pin? And thriving? Don’t question a good thing I suppose! This attacker is a threat anywhere on the court. At Big South Qualifier she seemed to play a good bit of 6 rotation outside for her Shockwave squad and did a great job attacking from the left and the backrow. Only time will tell how Montana State ends up using this athlete when she comes on campus - a fun one to watch for sure.

Alayna Vaeth - 2026 Setter, Dynasty, PPV 102

If there’s one thing about me, I love a crafty setter. Setting over your shoulder, offensive, runs a quick tempo? All things when watching film of Vaeth, she does beautifully. Even 10 feet off in the 4 zone, she is able to perfectly locate a ball behind her. This is a setter I see getting picked up rather quickly when she finds the right program fit.
