As June 15 is quickly approaching, our main focus is on the Class of 2027, but it is never too early to start looking ahead! With that, and over 104 profiles already created, we are starting a weekly “Futures Report” on the Class of 2028! This week, let’s take a look at our top 10 based solely on current PPV! Josalyn Samuels - Setter, Kairos 16 Alpha, PPV 289 Samuels is our cream of the crop, and her accolades back it up. A five-time NTDP invitee, 2024 Max Preps All-American and Freshman of the Year, and an AAU All-American, she has attended camps at Nebraska, Texas, Wisconsin, and Creighton - all Sweet 16 teams last season. Over her past two summer stints at Lincoln, she took home both the Top Setter and Most Outstanding Player awards. All that aside, she ranks among the top percentiles in all of our athletic measurements too! Offensive-minded and aggressive, there is no doubt that all college coaches will be bidding for her talents! Cala Haffner - Libero, Team Pineapple HP 17s, PPV 286 A state champion as a freshman, this libero is no stranger to success and should get used to it. Ranked as our highest libero in the group, Haffner is a star. Covering most of the court in serve receive and passing a perfect ball methodically, she keeps her team in system at an exceptional rate. On defense, she makes the hardest swings look like down balls and plays like she should never let a ball drop, regardless of where it is sent. Tatum Kelly - Setter, 1st Alliance 15 Gold, PPV 275 This setter can do it all. Running a 6-2 with 15 Gold, Kelly both runs the offense and swings from the right pin at a high level. She projects to be a setter in college, and boy will she be a good one! Her release is virtually automatic, clean each and every time, pushing the ball out to all of her hitters with accuracy and appropriate tempo. She has already attended numerous Division 1 camps, including those at Nebraska, Wisconsin, Kentucky, and Florida, cementing her as one of the best prospects in this class! Jordyn Blair - Middle, Muciana 15-1 Blue, PPV 255 Blair, a UA Next Camp invitee, flashes in the middle. She is very long and can reach to fill seams even when off-balance. Her contact point allows her to snap on the ball, and her wrist-away shot is lethal. I am thrilled to see how she grows into her skill set as she plays more and becomes even more terminal! Amari Frazier - Middle, AZ Storm Elite 15 Thunder, PPV 255 Frazier is a complete monster in the middle. As a recent NTDP attendee, when watching this 2028 middle on the court, you can tell. Making solo stuffs look ordinary, she is an absolute stud and closes blocks like it’s nobody’s business. Not to mention, she can casually bounce a ball as well! Izzie Penrose - Libero, AZ Storm Elite 15 Thunder, PPV 251 High praise aside, when I first watched Izzie, she reminded me of former Louisville great and two-time National Runner-Up Elena Scott. Not only does she stand out in defense and serve receive, but her setting abilities are simply outstanding. She is truly like a second setter on the court, with elite range and digging abilities as well! McKenzie Andrews - Middle, Legacy 15-1 Adidas, PPV 240 Standing tall at 6 foot 5, Andrews certainly checks off the size category to succeed at the next level. She excels on the defensive front and is a big problem for opponents' pins. We would like to see her become a bit more powerful on the offensive end, but she is undoubtedly a strong attacker already. Annabelle Ross - Middle, AZ Storm Elite 15 Thunder, PPV 230 Touching around 10 feet on both her block and approach, Ross is an outstanding athlete who should excite coaches. She is a wall at the net, and her press sends balls straight down when hit into. On the offensive end, she bursts off the court and quickly puts the ball down with impressive regularity. Sade Bello - Outside, Houston Jrs 15 Elite, PPV 225 Bello created a profile in February, and what we said then still stands true: “This 2028 attacker literally jumped onto the scene this past fall, touching 10’2” on her approach as just a freshman.. Already a MaxPreps All-American and Houston Chronicle Newcomer of the Year, this is just the beginning for this Houston Juniors star, and we are psyched to track her development! When you are gaining Varsity notoriety in the Houston area as a Freshman, you know you possess some next-level talent.” Brooke Neale - Libero, Munciana 15-1 Blue, PPV 224 Neale plays with great balance and a solid center of gravity that allows her to float around the backcourt and adjust her platform with precision and pace. An AAU National Champion and All-American, she boasts quite the resume and has the makings of an elite backcourt defender.
