Mac's Forecast: What She's Watching This Weekend

Another week has passed, and more volleyball has been played. I personally watched a lot of qualifiers. Between Northern Lights in Minneapolis and Big South in Atlanta, there was plenty of strong volleyball being played. Our VB Adrenaline team has been keeping our eyes out for good volleyball, and we have found it. Here are a few players our team has caught!

Lyndsey Robinson- Libero, Munciana, PPV 155- solid libero that definitely prides herself on passing. She is a strong passer and gets the ball to the target using her good form. She knows how to use textbook form on passing, and with some consistency, I could really see her PPV skyrocketing.

Julia Cernich- OPP, AVC, PPV 150- really solid attacker. She has had a few good weekends where she is putting up kills for her team and point scoring right where a right-side attacker needs to be. Her setter does a good job of mixing in balls to Cernich in and out of the system, so she gets a good mix of balls, and she puts them away well.

Alli Z Robinson—MB, IMG, PPV 162—This is a middle blocker that I have had my eyes on since she created a player profile. I think she is a really strong MB who is effective in the middle of the court for her club team. She scores points right when her team needs her to, and she works hard to be up in transition. She definitely has the height to be a big-time threat offensively and defensively.

Taylor Steele- OPP, MAVS, PPV 167- Strong right side hitter that does well for her MAVS team. Her arm swing is almost outside of her body, making it really hard for hitters to tell where she is taking the ball and swinging with it. At 5'10, she is a solid blocker and point scorer on defense as well! She is one I will be keeping an eye on!

Graecyn Shepard- Libero, Triangle, PPV 162- One of the biggest things I look for in a libero is their out-of-system setting, and Shepard has put in the work to perfect hers. She is a great OOS setter and puts her hitters in great spots. I would love to see more liberos using their hands at this age division, but she's killing it. She's also a really solid passer, giving her setter time to get there.

Reese Maslowski- OH, MAVS, PPV 165- Sunshine qualifier a couple of weeks ago was a strong tournament for her. She was able to get a lot of kills for her team and was a go-to hitter at some pivotal moments in some matches for her MAVS team. Our team noticed her and thought she had definitely improved since the last time we saw her!

Amaree Hollis—MB, Sudden Impact, PPV 162—Her team wasn't at either of the qualifiers I mentioned but was at the PNQ, where I watched Hollis bang some balls. Her very different arm swing makes her hard to read as a blocker, but it definitely doesn't stop her from crushing some balls. She is so good at hitting sharp angles, especially the wrist-away shot from in front of the setter.

Kampbell Neipagen—OH, Sports Performance, PPV 168—Now, her team isn't at these qualifiers, but I caught them a few weeks back and was really impressed with Neipagen’s ability to bang some balls. Her team runs a really fun offense that allows their OH to hit inside routes and high balls in the middle, so it's a ton of fun watching her hit all over the court. She is an OH that I’ll have my eye on for yet another PPV increase!
