In this week’s edition of “From the Film Room” we will evaluate the next batch of our highest-ranked 28s!
Ashlyn Pelon - Libero, Legacy 15-1 Adidas, PPV 210
This defensive star has already attended a loaded list of programs’ camps such as Penn State and Louisville, who faced each other in last year’s NCAA Championship! Pelon is an impressive prospect who always seems to be in the right place. She picks up nearly every ball and covers a solid chunk of the court in both serve receive and defense, taking on a challenging assignment that she makes look simple.
Kayleigh Rogers - Outside, Kiva 15 Red, PPV 192
Rogers is a multipurpose player, listed as both an outside and a libero. A six-rotation outside for her high school and club teams, Rogers is a force. Although she currently stands at 5’10”, she winds up and gets on top of the ball in a flash. Taking her defensive prowess into account as well, she checks a lot of the boxes.
Penelope Reisman - Setter, Tri-State Elite 16 Blue, PPV 191
After attending her first NTDP, Reisman is certainly on the come-up! With consistently great location and handwork, her play is incredibly smooth and is mirrored in the offense she runs. Watch as Reisman continues to rise!
Karina Urzua - Setter, Sports Academy VBC 15 Premier, PPV 185
The first thing I noticed about Urzua was how nimble she is. Even on passes off of the net, she seems to get her feet to the ball with ease and deliver a high and wide set. She runs a great quick set through the middle as well; keep tabs on her!
Mallory Mizell - Outside, Stars 17 Alex, PPV 185
Mizell is terminal on the outside. Watching her, it is clear that every touch of the ball is so intentional and there is nothing flukey about her power. She seems to always find a way to put the ball down, whether it’s firing it hard and low through the seam when the block isn’t closed or chopping it down the line when her opponent tries to take the cross away. She is also a quality defender and plays 6 extremely well!
Audrey Sutherland - Outside, NNJ 15 Nate, PPV 184
Already standing at 6’4”, Sutherland has the physical attributes any coach would be looking for. Playing all six rotations, as she continues to develop her all-around skillset she will only become more and more valuable on the recruiting trail. I am excited to follow her as she grows into her game!
Quinn Nelson - Outside, Legacy 15-1 Adidas, PPV 181
Nelson shows great range on her attacks and is a versatile player. Her setter likes to move her around a lot, and she succeeds no matter if she is swinging from the back row, a pin, or through the middle. She is a fun athlete!
Loryn Piening - Middle, Nebraska ONE 16 Synergy, PPV 181
Our only middle on the list this week, Piening does not disappoint! She is hard to defend as she rarely hits down the middle of the court. Able to hit sharp angles on both sides and find deep corners, she is a high-level shotmaker!
Morgan Nesloney - Libero, TAV Houston 15 Adidas, PPV 178
Small but mighty, Nesloney is a fiery competitor. Not only does she have exceptional digging abilities, but she reads the game so well that she is in position to make a play almost every time. Excellent is serve receive and flashy on defense, it is hard to find a flaw in her game!
Harper Broyles - Libero, Alliance 15 REN, PPV 177
Broyles is just such a solid prospect. Bettering the ball and keeping her team in system at an elite level, it is not secret as to why she is an NTDP attendee and UA Next Camp MVP!
