The talent is constantly growing around the country as our sport continues to gain center stage attention. With more athletes competing, the stronger the competition becomes in each state. Next up on our state by state series, we will be looking at the strength that comes from Georgia. Georgia is not a new name to the national stage with a club like A5 competing for the top spot amongst all clubs in the entire nation, deep down south is deep with high level volleyball talent.
This week, let’s take a look at our top 10 PPV athletes who currently have a player profile on our site!
Marissa Jones - 2027 Setter, A5, PPV 286
If you’ve been around the volleyball game for any time at all, you should be familiar with Jones. Long, offensive setter? Yes please. Jones has made a name for herself and is easily the best setter in her class. The question becomes, where does she land come June? At every event, A5 16-1’s court is consistently packed with P4 coaches. Which one of them will get to pick her up? The countdown is on.
Caelyn Whoesendove - 2027 Outside, A5, PPV 225
Whosendove has been one coming up in the ranks this year. She catches your eye and passes every eye test, tall, jumps well, and a HEAVY arm. Whosendove powers through blockers and defenses alike, scoring what seems to be at will. She’s named a number of top P4 schools under her ‘schools of interest’ section of her player profile, this should be a big summer for the stand out outside.
Kylee Evans - 2027 Middle, A5, PPV 202
Evans is part of the absolutely stacked A5 16-1 team. While she may not be the biggest middle in the 16 Open field, she certainly makes up for it with her wingspan and jump. Watch 10 seconds of film and you’ll be hooked - she seems to glide and float almost effortlessly. She’s off the ground quick and closes the block well. This one will be a fun one to watch as she continues to develop.
Layla Dunn - 2027 Outside, A5, PPV 195
Dunn, another A5 16’s member, impresses with her ability to attack on either side of the court. She’s up and down quick with a high touch, so she’s able to swing high over blockers and into the middle of the court. She’s been invited to a plethora of Select Camps this summer and will likely have a hard time deciding on now to narrow down her options.
Mia Ray - 2027 Outside, A5, PPV 192
Ray has been a critical piece of this A5 teams offense for a number of years. She may not have the highest TOP scores of an outside in her class, but she makes up for it in her swing. A loaded arm, she’s able to blast through blocks and finds a lot of success scoring for her team. A 3x USAV All-American, she’s knocking on the 200 PPV door and ready for June.
Riley Bethea - 2026 Middle, A5, PPV 189
Bethea is your typical Georgia Tech middle, long and fast, she impresses with her blocking ability being able to get pin to pin in an instant. She’s garnered lots of national attention during her prep career - multiple all tournament team nods, JVA watch list, and UA Camp Invitee - she will be a fun one to watch for the yellowjackets.
Jade Howard - 2027 Middle, A5, PPV 178
Howard playing on A5’s 16-2’s shows how deep their 16’s group is. She’s a solid middle who is able to run any route really well. Great off of one foot behind and even better in the 3 zone. She’s an offensive weapon for her team and is one to keep an eye on as she progresses this year.
Raegan Marshman - 2028 Middle, TK, PPV 170
Marshman is our first 2028 on this list, she’s quick up on the block and has a very high reach on her attacks. A little more development with footwork and approach speed and she will be a force to be reckoned with.
Dakota Washington - 2028 Libero, A5, PPV 161
Washington is the second 2028 on our list and first Libero. Although young, she already has that dawg factor we love to see in a ‘bro. She’s a fearless defender and is always willing to sacrifice her body to keep the ball alive.
Clara Briley - 2026 Outside, A5, PPV 134
Cincinnati commit, Briley is a solid 6 rotation outside for the ‘26 class. She utilizes a variety of shots on her attack and is a scrappy defender, keeping her team in matches and frustrating opponents offenses.
