Florida Finds It's New Head Coach

A little over a week after program icon Mary Wise retired, Florida Women’s Volleyball has found its new head coach - only the third in program history.

Ryan Theis, a former assistant for two seasons from 2006-2007, was announced as Florida’s next in command by AD Scott Stricklin Monday afternoon.

Theis returns to Florida after an 11-year tenure at Marquette in the same role. With a previous stint at Ohio University, over his 17-year head coaching career, he has never once failed to reach 21 wins in a season.

Boasting a 402-121 (.740) overall record and two trips to the Sweet 16 in the last three years, Theis will look to continue his success at a program in Florida that expects greatness year in and year out.

Interesting to see how this all plays out with the transition to a new regime, as several current players had gone on social media asking for longtime Associate HC Dave Boos to take over upon Mary Wise’s retirement.
