This weekend, the entire volleyball world descends on Kansas City, Missouri for the biggest
club tournament of the year, Triple Crown. All of the top recruiting prospects from Texas and
around the country will be competing for a share of the crown. The LOVB Classic tournament
will also be taking place in Kansas City as all six pro teams take part in a bracket-style
tournament, showcasing LOVB's massive investment in the game at the youth level.
Being such a large event, Texas will be in attendance, sending Associate Head Coach David
Hunt to take on recruiting duties. The primary focus of the trip will be recruiting for the distant
future in the 2027, 2028, and 2029 classes. "We have a young group of players, so we feel
pretty good about who's in the gym already" said Hunt. As they should, with 8 players combined
in the 2025 and 2026 classes, both of which are the #1 class in the nation according to average
PPV. Texas has flexed their recruiting prowess the past couple of years, and will look to
continue that trend for the future.
