All Adrenaline Team from Big South

All Adrenaline Team from Big South

This past weekend at Big South, athletes stood out in many different ways. The competition was high and so was the level of volleyball in the gym. After three days of play, 6 athletes stood out to Madison, and made All-Adrenaline First Team.

The Team Captain: Genevieve Harris. A setter from NC Academy who knows how to run an offense. Genieveve and her team won the 16 open division this weekend at Big South. As a setter, she knows how to run an offense and connect with her hitters. This past weekend, she illustrated that in every game, from the big wins to the close games, Genevieve remained a stable leader for her team. She also was extremely crafty in her play calls, tried new connections, and found ways to be more active in the front row. It is obvious, from this weekend, that Genevieve is going to be a top setter in the class of 2026.

Nadiya Johnson, a 6 rotation rightsize hitter for Metro Volleyball. You don't see many of those, but when you do, that means they're legit. From the back row to the front row, Nadiya knows how to put a ball down. This past weekend, Nadiya had deadly back row attacks from all over the court. In the front row, she attacked from all over the net running different plays with her setter. Her energy, physicality, and motivation lead her team into the Gold Bracket. She continues to stand out in every tournament, and will be a star pin in the class of 2026.

Kendall Northern, a middle blocker for Elevation. We all have heard her name and know her game. This past weekend, Kendall owned the net as a middle. Her quickness from running plays, to closing blocks, allowed her to be a weapon for her team. Her height and length allowed her to be a wall at the net, and let no ball pass her. She dominated the game by reading her opponents tendencies, and then stopping them. She challenged her game by running a variety of sets and producing for her team. Her energy and passion shows in each game and allows her to be an unstoppable middle blocker.

Caydence Doolan, an outside hitter for Metro Volleyball. Caydence stood out to me this weekend with her wide variety of shots. As an outside hitter, you get a range of sets from in-system to out of system, and it is your job to handle each set. Caydence did just more then handle her set. In system, she was unstoppable, from the range of tools she has to kill a ball. With the out of system sets, Caydence was crafty and smart placing the ball where her opponents weren't. She reads the block and finds ways to score for her team. Not only was she talented with her game, but her energy and aggressiveness was a motivation for her team.

Emma Frietch, a libero for NKYVC. A strong, confident, and scrappy libero lead her team to a second place finish at Big South. Emma has an incredible range as a defender, and she was quick to digging every ball. She challenged her opponents by picking up tips, to digging hard hit balls. She read her hitters, and was quick to make adjustments to her game. Not only was she a stud defender, but she was also a confident leader in serve-receive. She was loud and communicative with her teammates which allowed them to be more confident in serve receive as well. She was expanding her range of court throughout the tournament, and it allowed her to be a strong leader in the back row for this NKYVC team.

Finally we have Audrey Dyas, another middle blocker from NKYVC. Audrey's dynamic movement in the front row challenged her opponents, and they were not able to stop her. The passion Audrey brings to the game is what caught my eye from this past weekend. Not only is she a solid athlete, but she brings so much energy to every game and fires up her teammates. Her communication with her setter allows for her to be a force to be reckoned with at the net. She also has a range of shots and sees the court really well as a middle blocker.
