Get to know Olivia Henry

Get to know Olivia Henry

Get to know the absolute STUD outside hitter from New York and IMG Academy. Olivia Henry is an incredible outside hitter with a PPV of 289 who had a great showing at NTDP this winter and we can't wait to catch her play this club season. I had the chance to ask Olivia a couple of questions about her to get to know her. Hope you all enjoy these fun facts about Olivia Henry as much as I did!

  1. What is your favorite volleyball memory so far in your career?

My favorite volleyball memory is the first time I went to NTDP. I remember being so nervous because all of the girls were amazing and it was a new competitive environment.

  1. If you could play any position other than your own what would it be?

The position I would play would be setter, I love setting and it would be fun and a challenge controlling the offense. And everyone says I have nice hands so I don't see why not!

  1. Do you play any other ports? Or If you could play any sport other than volleyball at the high level you are at what would it be?

I don't really play any other sports, but I think at a high level it would be basketball because of my height. I have tried basketball but never stuck with it.

  1. What are you looking forward to this club season?

I'm looking forward to going to more big tournaments and seeing all my friends on the other side of the net from NTDP!

  1. Do you have a favorite volleyball skill? Stuff block, big kill, out of system set, etc?

I love a big kill! It gets me and my teammates fired up!

  1. Who is your favorite NCAA volleyball player?

My favorite NCAA volleyball player is Jess Mruzik from Penn State, she is so lethal and gets a kill almost every time she is set.

  1. What do you like to do outside of the volleyball gym? Hobbies?

Some things I like to do outside the gym are working out or going on walks. I also really like shopping with my friends and family.

  1. Do you have a role model or an influential person in your life? Who and what's the story?

My role model is my dad. He played volleyball on the Jamaican National Team and has a very high volleyball IQ so teaching me his ways and guiding me where I need to be is so helpful and I'm grateful to have him as my dad.

  1. If you had to give advice to younger girls what advice/tips would you give?

Some advice would be when it gets hard and you don't want to do it anymore you should keep pushing. After you come out of that place it's smooth sailing from there and you will fall in love with the game.
