Ostovar verbals to USC for beach and indoor

#1 ranked recruit out of California announced her commitment to the University of Southern California. We had a great conversation with Ostovar today on her commitment process and wanted to clear some things up.

After a few college camps and phone conversations, Ostovar found that Head Coach Brad Keller and the Trojans checked all her boxes. Despite getting looks by college coaches for her ball control and potential as a libero, she set a goal of playing as an outside hitter in the Big Ten.  

Original her #1 school, USC offered her the ability to stay close to home, get a prestigious education, and the opportunity to make an impact as a 6 row ball-control outside.

Ostovar hadn’t considered playing beach at the next level and was focused on indoor, until after she accepted the indoor position and was offered a spot on the #1 ranked USC beach volleyball team later that day.

‍

She had considered other top 10 programs but was hesitant due to weather and background noise from the volleyball community, ultimately leaving California was not an option for her. USC has a vision for Ostovar as an undersized outside hitter, along with the addition of beach volleyball, she is excited about the things she can offer a power 5 program.
