#12 SMU’s rollercoaster of a season continues. With big wins over #2 Nebraska and most recently #1 Pitt you might be wondering how SMU is still ranked outside of the top 10. But everything that goes up must come down as on Wednesday, #5 Stanford swept the SMU Mustangs.
In sets one and two Stanford took control with their outside Elia Rubin leading the charge as she reached her 1,000th career kill. With their backs against the wall, despite putting up a strong fight, SMU lacked efficiency in their side-out game. The gauntlet of the ACC schedule does not let up anytime soon for SMU as they face Cal, Notre Dame, and #4 Louisville in a home game stretch this next week. Can they regroup in time to face the new ACC West Coast Bears?
