Anyone who is a Cards fan, knows ​Anna DeBeer. A standout outside hitter for the University of Louisville, suffered a heartbreaking right ankle injury during the NCAA semifinal match against Pittsburgh on December 19, 2024. This injury occurred early in the fourth set after she landed awkwardly on a teammate's foot, leading to her exit from the game.
Despite hopes for a swift recovery, DeBeer was unable to participate in the national championship match against Penn State on December 22, 2024. Her absence was felt as Louisville fell to Penn State in four sets, concluding their season as national runners-up.
After her collegiate career, DeBeer transitioned to professional volleyball, signing with the Indy Ignite of the Pro Volleyball Federation. She made her professional debut on February 27, 2025, contributing eight kills in a match against the Vegas Thrill. Her performance marked a successful return to the court following her injury. ​
DeBeer’s return to the court marks an exciting comeback and the start of a promising professional career. From her impactful tenure at Louisville to her new journey with the Indy Ignite, her resilience and dedication continue to set the stage for a successful future.
