Joyous Jayhawks: Ulmer lands another star

Among the many ripple effects of Matt Ulmer’s decision to leave Oregon and take the job with Kansas, was the recruiting world. Not only did Oregon lose current players such as Mimi Colyer, Colby Neal, Noemie Glover, Mia Tvrdy, and Sophia Gregoire, but it also lost several key recruits such as Logan Bell.

Bell is one of the premier prospects in the Class of 2025, reopening her recruitment after the announcement of the coaching change in Eugene. Similarly to setter Cristin Cline who transferred from Oregon to Kansas, following Ulmer, Bell announced her decision to do the same on Monday.

The 2024-25 Gatorade Player of the Year in Indiana, Bell led Roncalli High School to a 35-0 record and a Class 3A state championship this past season. She is also a two-time first-team All-State selection and a member of the U-19 National Team.

As a highly skilled athlete and a student of the game, Bell’s commitment to Kansas is a testament to the impact of the relationship between a player and head coach in determining a program to dedicate one’s talents.
