Create a Player ProfileCatching up with some of the unsigned at USA's
What a first USA Nationals experience for this guy. Every where you turned high flyers, heavy arms and competition. What a week for us as we heard some great compliments and were able to catch up with so many top players and get a glimpse of their recruiting journey. Will compile the interviews and comments the next few days, but for this piece some quotes from 3 top 2025s
- Bailey Warren: Houston Skyline OH.....Warren has been one of our favorite interviews this season, since we met her at Triple Crown. This time I talked with her mother about Bailey's recruiting. "She's lucky that she has older sisters that have all been through this so she knows what to expect. The #1 thing they have told her is TAKE AS MUCH TIME AS YOU NEED and the right school will wait. So that's what she is going to do, I think she wants to get away from home and experience her own thing, but she's definitely taking her visits.........Were going to let her rest up a bit and then high school tryouts are coming so she will schedule her visits around all of that." Earlier Bailey had told us that some ACC schools were in her mix.
- Shay Heaney: NE Premier OH........Great finally catching up with Heaney who doesn't foresee a decision soon. "I'm still most interested in the schools that contacted me from the start, but I'm going to take my visits." Some interested schools will also get another chance to see Heaney in person as she participates in the Midwest Battle July 23rd. Looking forward to doing a formal interview then and also watching her battle the stars from around the Midwest. "I'm really excited for that it's going to be so much fun and great volleyball."
- Abbey Hayes: Six Pack OH.......I spent quite a bit of time talking with a very happy Abbey after a big win over rival Adrenaline Volleyball and Chloe Meester. "We are playing so much better than Day 1 we really struggled. I feel like our whole team is competing and playing so well right now." A few coaches mentioned to me how impressed they were with Hayes' fire and competitiveness I asked her about that. "Yes I get pretty intense during tight matches I don't like to lose, our whole team was so into that last match we gave it all we had." When we got to recruiting the long, explosive OH was very open about her status. "I have one more camp (K State Monday) and then I will have worked with all of my 5 finalists. I want to spend next really focusing in on this with my parents and could even make a decision by the end of next week." She also talked about program strength vs playing time. "A couple of my favorites have told me I can play right away and of course I like that because I want to play right away, but I also understand a couple of my choices there may not be that chance immediately because they have very good players older than me. So that is another thing I'm trying to decide on." The Iowa standout knows that wherever she goes she will have to compete. "I know I have to compete anywhere I decide on and that's a good thing. I'd really like to get this over with sooner than later and just know the program I'm going to." I expect her to be committed by the time she hits Sioux Falls July 23rd for the Midwest Battle where she will definitely be able to compete.
- Maya Witherspoon: Rockwood Thunder OH..... We got up with Maya for a 2nd time on Wednesday. The Illinois standout talked about her crazy June. "Yeah I went to five camps before June 15th so that was a lot. I have one last camp (Wake Forrest July 22) and then. I will have seen all of my favorites." Witherspoon has been most heavily recruited by schools from the ACC and an SEC school. "It's probably going to be that part of the country, yes. All of my favorites are in the same region. I know all of the coaching staffs' now so the campus visit will be the key 100%. I want to feel like a family atmosphere w/ the team, but also on the campus."
Just 5 Names:
Here are five names that we hope to learn more about in the next week or so
- Tekao Barnes (Tribe Volleyball) long arms and wide skill set, she just made plays all week.
- Mesayiah Bettis (Northern Lights) first look at her was a good one. Bettis and Gilk are top two Minnesota prospects.
- Kalyssa Blackshear (Surfside) She may fly under the radar with some schools and publications, but Blackshear flies OVER everything else. This girl can get up and has a huge upside. Love to know where her interests are.
- Aleah Goolsby (KC Power) Goolsby maybe hasn't received some early attention like the Big 3 in Kansas, but a top 50 national prospect there is interest in the Power OH for sure.
- Jillian Gregory (Shockwave) stay in Kansas for #5 as Gregory was a terminator for the Shockwave. Interested to see if she receives any attention from schools that went after her club teammate Camdyn Stucky last year?
******Goolsby and Gregory will both be part of Team Kansas at the Midwest Battle July 23rd.
Much more to come from Nationals THANK YOU to all of our subsribers for helping our growth.
