Get to know 2028 Libero Cala Haffner!

I got to chat with 2028 libero Cala Haffner (PPV 265) from Pineapple Volleyball in Indiana and learn a little bit more than you can learn from just catching her on the court. She is an impressive libero playing up in the 17’s age division this season with her club team. Haffner showed up and showed out at NTDP this year and was one of the best in the age group. She moves better than most liberos her age and keeps her team in system more often than not. I have loved breaking down her film and can't wait to keep watching her ball out. She is impressive beyond her years.

Anyways… heres a few facts about Cala that you can't learn from simply catching her on the court:

1. What is your favorite volleyball memory so far in your career?

My favorite volleyball memory is winning state this year with my high school team.

2. If you could play any position other than your own what would it be?

If I could play any other position other than libero it would be setter.

3. Do you play any other ports? Or If you could play any sport other than volleyball at the high level you are at what would it be?

I play basketball for my high school team.

4. What are you looking forward to this club season?

I am looking forward to going to Triple Crown this season.

5. Do you have a favorite volleyball skill? Stuff block, big kill, out of system set, etc?

My favorite volleyball skill is an out of system set.

6. Who is your favorite NCAA volleyball player?

My favorite NCAA volleyball player is Laney Choboy

7. What do you like to do outside of the volleyball gym? Hobbies?

Outside of volleyball I like to hang out with my friends and family and be outside.

8. Do you have a role model or an influential person in your life? Who and what’s the story?

The biggest role model in my life is my sister because she is always by my side no matter what and can help me with anything I need her to.

9. What is one piece of advice you would give to younger girls?

One piece of advice that I would give to younger girls is that everything won’t always go your way but you can always put in the effort every day to get better and just work on getting one percent better each and every day.
