Create a Player ProfileFive Standout Athletes from First In Show
The First In Show Volleyball Tournament in Ocala, Florida, offers a unique blend of equestrian charm and athletic prowess. While the show jumpers and their horses compete for the "First In Show" title in the equestrian arena, some of the most talented young volleyball players from across the state vie for a similar distinction on the court. This year, five athletes stood out, each contributing significantly to their teams' performances. They played with passion, skill, and a clear understanding of the game, commanding attention on the court and paving their way to the top.
Addison Walker
BVA 17's
Addison Walker, an Outside Hitter from BVA 17 Black Alyssa, played a crucial role in leading her team to a second-place finish in the 17 Open division. A Seton Hall commit, Addison showed her versatility by scoring both in the front row and the back row. Her powerful arm, a key asset in her offensive strategy, was a game-changer. This, coupled with her agility and quick decision-making, made her a formidable opponent.
Lauren Leach
Sarasota Jrs
Lauren Leach, an Opposite from Sarasota Juniors 17 Elite, is a young athlete with an impressive track record. Despite being a 2027 recruit, Lauren played up two age groups for Sarasota Juniors, contributing significantly to their victory in the 17 Open division. What sets Lauren apart from her peers is her incredibly high volleyball IQ, honed through her experience in beach volleyball.
Lexi Tschopp
Team Kiwi 16s
Lexi Tschopp, a Libero from Team Kiwi 16 Graphite, was a standout player at both the Florida Holiday Challenge in Daytona and the First In Show tournament. Lexi has proven to be a solid defender, making significant contributions to her team's third-place finish in the 16 Open division. She is always ready to make the move, whether it's to receive a serve or to cover the block. Her anticipation and quick reflexes make her a formidable presence in the backcourt.
Addyson Avery
OPU 15 Adidas
Addyson Avery, a Middle Blocker from OPU 15 Adidas, is one of the most underrated 2027 recruits. I first noticed her at the Florida Volleyball Challenge, and her performance at the First In Show tournament confirmed my initial impression. Addyson has tremendous potential to become a top recruit as a middle or pin hitter. Addyson was a significant part of her team's first-place finish in the 15 Open division.
Haley Robinson
WF Waves
Finally, we have Haley Robinson, an Opposite from WF Waves 16-1. Haley is a force to be reckoned with on the court, and was easily one of the best players in the entire tournament. At 6'3, she towers over most of her competitors, but it's her powerful arm that truly sets her apart. Haley was instrumental in leading the West Florida Waves to victory in the 16 Open division
As we look ahead, it's exciting to imagine what these athletes will achieve in their volleyball careers. Their performances at the First In Show tournament were impressive, but they are just the beginning. We can expect to see even greater things from these promising athletes in the future.
