Addison Coady Middle Blocker Mizuno Long Beach - University of Southern California
Southern California continues to dominate with in-state recruits with the addition of Caody in the middle blocker position, ranked as the #8 recruit in California bringing aggressive play at the net and creativity on offense. Coady was placed in the opposite position and stood out as a go-to player for her team, a physical attacker when she gets on top of the ball and has the ability to run different routes on offense. She has sustained large success at the high school and club level, and will look to continue that success at a powerhouse program like USC.
Raina Chwiałkowski Libero Summit Juniors - University of Maryland, Terrapins
Chwialkowski plays up two age groups and continues to stand out for her high level ball control, a technical defender with a quiet platform and solid angles outside her body on serve receive. The Terps are getting a gritty defender in the back court who has experience against some of the top prospects at NTDP and is recognized at a national level for her talent. She will challenge the attackers in the gym and bring a positive court presence to a team looking to solidify themselves as a program to watch out for in a new Big Ten conference.
Alaina Pollard Middle Blocker 1st Alliance - Indiana University, Hoosiers
Part of a dynamic duo of middle blockers for this Alliance team that placed second at Nationals, Pollard is a fast twitch athlete that generates a lot of power through her approach and takes up space at the net with her natural physicality. She works hard to stay open to the setter to remain an option in transition offense and she is a smart blocker who makes last minute moves with her hands. The Hoosiers have already asserted themselves as one of the most dominant recruiting classes and the addition of Pollard continues that trend.
Victoria Shupe Libero Houston Skyline - Southern Methodist University, Mustangs
Shupe is an impressive libero to watch on defense, she reads the game at a high level which allows her to make the difficult dig or stay on her feet to pick up a tip. She makes the game look easy with her ability to absorb power on contact and is assertive in serve receive, taking a large portion of the court. The Mustangs are looking to sustain their level of play heading into the ACC after a historical season, Shupe is a solid recruit who will fit right in with the new direction of the program.
Haley Burgdorf Outside Hitter Sports Performance - Penn State University, Nittany Lions
The Nittany Lions land another incredible recruit after the verbal of Burgdorf from SPVBC, a powerhouse attacker who has a fast approach to beat the opposing blockers and her ability to elevate makes her difficult to stop on defense. She is smart out of system by using off speed shots to move the ball around and she isn’t afraid to take a rip off the net. Burgdorf will bring a heavy arm and solid all around game to the Big Ten looking to do some damage.
Anabelle Cerny Setter Wisconsin Juniors - University of South Alabama, Jaguars
Cerny is a crafty setter on offense who likes to move the ball around to challenge the opposing defense, she is consistent in her location when setting off net and is strong with her hands to set against the flow. The Jaguars have an athlete joining their program who continues to improve in her knowledge of the game and strengthen all areas of her game. Standing at 6’0 as a setter, she brings more height to the position and the ability to play six rotations with a strong presence at the net.
Clara Briley Outside Hitter A5 - University of Cincinnati, Bearcats
Briley has a strong court presence and plays with a lot of confidence, she is a quick attacker who has a difficult thumb down shot to defend and off the net she is still able to unload on the ball. The Bearcats have added an athlete who can make an immediate impact and rises to the occasion in pressure situations, she is creative in broken plays often finding a way to score and has strong eyework at the net to impact the game through her block as well.
