Minnesota’s #1 prospect, Elena Hoecke, is the next hot commodity for the 2026 class. The 6’3”
quick middle blocker has a TON to add to any program. This past club season she said her
lateral speed and offensive range improved. Hoecke isn’t limited to being a traditional middle.
She has the ability to hit different tempos on each pWatching her go
head to head with others in her class will be funin, and is one of the primary passers for her
high school team. She also spends some time playing on the beach with TMP Beach out of the
Twin Cities. Being a utility player can open up a lot of doors for athletes, especially ones like
Hoecke. She is constantly looking for ways to improve her game through curiosity and poise.
Hoecke has played up an age group the past few years during club season. This coming
season, she will play with her age group for 16s at Minnesota Select. Playing up an age group
has forced her to play the game at a faster pace than her peers. She has established herself as
a top middle in the 2026 class but has been playing against 2025s. It will be fun to watch her go
head-to-head with others in her class.
Being in the early part of her sophomore year, she is not able to communicate with college
coaches yet. But that did not stop her from going to multiple camps to see the campuses on her
own time and get in the gym at select programs. Hoecke attended camps at Louisville, Ohio
State, and Minnesota. When asked about recruiting, she said wants a program that is
supportive of her goals on and off the court, as well as a great holistic culture.
