Whosendove New Star In the South Names Early Leaders
Caelyn Whosendove is a name that coaches nationally, but especially the Southeast will need to get eyes on early and often this club season. The 2027 OH has made several “leaps” this off-season, which will affect her recruiting situation considerably this Spring.
*The Georgia resident increased her Physical Testing Scores: Height 6’2”, Block 10’2”, and her
approach went up to over 10’4”. Check out her entire Player Profile on the website.
*Those athletic changes helped her earn a spot on A5’s Top 16s team, which will allow her to work with 2027 Top Setter Prospect Marissa Jones and will also guarantee that she will be on a court that will get attention from every major program in the nation so that she will get seen.
“I’m looking forward to playing with the top-of-the-line players at the 16 level who have developed into outstanding athletes.
Another thing that caught our attention with Caelyn’s initial Player Profile was that the A5 Sophomore wasn’t afraid to list some of her initial colleges of interest, which is often unheard of with most athletes. Our staff are big proponents of this practice, so we asked Caylyn why she decided to list some of her “early favorites.” “Most of the teams I have listed have similar things that have caught my attention. With Florida, for example, visiting for a 3-day camp, the coaches and players made me feel at home; they were knowledgeable when it came to helping me tweak my techniques and instantly elevated my game. They were super easy to talk with about anything and made me feel like this could be the place for me.” What else might be a factor in your “initial list”? “Yeah, I camped each of the other four. All of them are schools I follow, and I love the offensive and defensive strategies they play. If the opportunity comes, I try to picture myself as a fit for their program.
Along with thinking of possible schools, we talked to Caelyn about any factors that might play more of a role in her decision on her final destination. She stated that she
has started thinking about them and has a few, but is not dead set one being the most critical (totally normal at this point in the process). “There are a few things that are important to me:
*I think having the chance to come to a D1 school as a Freshman and compete for a chance to play right away.
*School location and having the close-to-home feel on campus (even if it may be far away)
*Having a connection with the coaches from the school I’m interested in. They need to share the same sentiments and interests that I do.
*Schools with traditions that can compete for conference and national titles every year.
*As I narrow down my field of study, a school with a solid curriculum of interest in the academics area I want to major.”
You can tell that this star is putting the work in physically and mentally to prepare herself for a successful recruiting process this June. Whoesendove could be one of those pins that gain a ton of new attention on the national scene and have a fast ascending PPV. Get a chance to watch her A5 squad in the Open division this season.
