Create a Player ProfileMichigan's Fab 5 Looking to Continue the Legacy!
The 2027 class is stacked. There's no question about that… but very few teams are as stacked as the Legacy 16-1’s team. This team was AAU national champions last season and it's full of girls who all have serious D1 potential. Everyone should seriously watch this group because all 11 players on this roster should find themselves at a D1 program in the future. There is a lot of talent and leadership potential in these girls and I have been really impressed with watching them in the past and I think they are only going to get so much better spending more time playing together.
There is a select group that we have had our eyes on quite a bit… 5 players from this Legacy squad have player profiles and have already set themselves apart. Having a player profile has really given us the chance to really check out this goup and is a great way for other athletes to get on our radar! This “fab 5” from Michigan is continuing the “Legacy” and there's no doubt about that;)
Enough with the puns… Here are just a few of my thoughts on these players on our site!
Marlie Smith- Setter, PPV 266- A gold level PPV… and a gold level human. She was the MVP at nationals last year… She is a STUD. Just because she is 5’9” does not mean she plays like it. Smith is one of, if not THE best setter in this class.
Cynthia Ockerman- MB, PPV 224- She is quick quick quick in transition. Ockerman runs the slide very very well, something not enough middles can do these days in my opinion.
Frankie Ramsdell Washington- MB, PPV 156- Really strong blocking middle. Another piece of this team that makes them so strong. They aren't just all offense, they are ready to play defense and Frankie’s blocking is a great start as a front line!
Calli LeFever- OH, PPV 179- A solid outside hitter that I have loved getting to watch. She has a really long backswing and a fast arm swing. She reaches so well that she can swing over blockers or find the back corners really well.
Addison Thompson-Stepp- Libero/DS, PPV 149- She has improved her serve receive immensely over the years. She clearly loves to run the backcourt and seems to have good leadership and control back there helping lead this team.
