The waiting game is on!

The transfer portal is no joke these days. There are some top prospects in the portal. We have been talking about what the waiting game really is all about. These top transfers are all dragging this process out and really taking their time. What we've talked about is that the waiting game for these transfers isn't much about campus visits or the team's culture or what that chat is about at the AVCA convention. These transfers are going for money right now. There are volleyball transfers going for upwards of $250,000… yeah you read that right… 250K.

With the new world we live in with NIL and revenue share the price of a transfer is not going down anytime soon. Not all of these schools can afford some of the going prices for transfers and it's all about how much the programs are receiving in revenue share and that varies. The money in the portal right now is insane and it just keeps going up. When a coach has the money and wants a player there is no stopping them.

We don't blame the girls. These are young women in their late teens or early twenties that are being offered insane amounts of money to play volleyball in college. All we are saying is that this waiting game the transfers are playing isn't about making sure they check out all of the places they are interested in… they are checking the price tag and making sure they end up at the school who is willing to open their check book the widest.
