Prospect Report: Early 2027 Names Start Swirling

Prospect Report: Early 2027 Names Start Swirling

Prospect Report: Post Prep Season Update Names Start Swirling

Anya Baklenko, Class of 2027 PPV 245 Setter Madfrog Texas

“Very curious to watch Anya early on in the club season.  She’s had quite a bit of “new in her life” the past 6 months, and I'm interested to see how she adapts, adjusts, and changes with her new surroundings.  Also, I will be curious to see if strength will be an issue at this level or if she hit a growth spurt this season because she has the technique for sure.” Big XII rep

Cynthia Ockerman, Class of 2027 PPV 224 Middle Legacy Michigan

“Crafty in the middle and efficient in their system.  It was a big year to see how her “physical # numbers match with others in class.”   Know that is a focus for her.  You get all the + intangibles with Ockerman. If her block touch can climb, her recruiting status will also be” B1G staffer.

Molly Robertson, Class of 2027 PPV 174 Setter Revolution Volleyball Academy Pennsylvania

“Molly is slightly undersized for some systems but is technically sound and in the mold of that high-IQ kid.  On the radar of many midwest programs in our range right now.” Former B1G staff member

Anaiya Thornton, Class of 2027 PPV 196, OH SCVC, California

“Thornton is one to watch for us early on this season simply because we want to see how she does as she continues to work at her more natural position of OH.  Think you can expect more production and confidence from her as the season progresses (on the offensive end) than you maybe saw a year ago when she worked more as a MB.” West Coast scout

Emma Kingston, Class of 2027 PPV 208, MB WAVE, California

“Physical and powerful in the middle.  One that has maybe been overshadowed in the class earlier in her career.  Watch her this season playing with the WAVE squad.  She should start to get more National recognition, just think that if her explosive game can improve she could be a sleeper Big Ten middle.  Think she could move up to be a top 4-5 middle in the class by June 15th.”  Pro Scout

Marlee Steiner, Class of 2027 PPV 190, MB STL High Performance, Missouri

“Watch for Steiner to push for your 200 club early on in January.  She’s touching 125 inches already and is smooth running the slide.  Her wingspan and quick-twitch reaction make her a serious weapon on the block.  It will all depend how quick she matures and begins to add strength to her frame.  Could see her ending up in the 215-220 range by June if she adds strength/explosion to her game, but she will have regional options galore because she’s from the STL.”  UA Next staffer

London Evans, Class of 2027, PPV 195, Setter Munciana, Indiana

Evans comes off a club season being named All-American and attended some mid/upper Power 4 level Select Camps.  She is in a “bunch” of Setters that will enter the season “fitting the prototype as coaches like to say (meaning she is 6’ tall, very solid fundamentals, high volleyball IQ, solid athletic ability, plays at the open division for a high-level club).  She will get all of the looks that she needs in her gym at Muncianna and already has some interested P4 schools.  Does Evans do anything athletically to separate herself from the pack that may land her a “next-level” type offer?  That is what several BIG Ten and ACC/SEC staffs will look at through the Spring while evaluating her.
