UA Next 2024 Kansas City What To Expect
The “Road To Orlando” begins in Kansas City Friday afternoon, as UA Next holds their first Invite Camp for some of the top prospects in the USA. Here is a rundown of what you can expect and our predictions for the awards in the talented field.
For the most part, girls are grouped by Classes, with most of the attention being on the 2024’s (since they compete for Orlando). But, it is also a great chance for younger prospects to make a positive impression on the UA Staff for future years.
The Process……Normally 1,2 MAYBE 3 2024s will be chosen to receive a “Golden Ticket” that automatically puts them on the Orlando Rosters. This varies by camp and you need to stand out. Others are evaluated and brought up at the end of the Summer, with girls from all the other UA Next Camps. The staff weighs their performance and picks out the rest of the Orlando Roster.
Each Camp also has “MVP Winners” These can be of any age and are a combination of performance, attitude, and energy shown during the 2-hour camp.
Here is our prediction on who you can look for taking home the UA Hardware tomorrow…..
2024s In The Running
First off what we learned, in January, attending the UA All-American Week is that you have to SPECIAL to make that roster. Physically and skill-wise. You have to look and play like a college veteran to be in that gym.
Second off I think that 2 sure thing All-Americans won’t be attending this camp in their backyard. Reese Messer and Abigail Mullen both would fit the mold and I think still make the roster in December……
Logan Parks Setter/OPP Mavs Kansas City…….The best all-around athlete in the class. Underrated all through high school she won MVP at this camp last year.
Taraya Sigler OH AZ Storm (Nebraska Verbal)……One publication has her #1 in the country so that should tell you about her talent level.
Keri Leimbach Libero (Nebraska) Nebraska One…….She will play with energy and communication and the staff loves that. Size never matters for her she keeps the ball off the floor.
Kenna Cogill Middle (Oregon) AZ Storm…….Athletic MB and that will show out in this gym.
Kirra Musgrove Setter (Texas AM) Houston Skyline……Was the top Setter in TX and a top 15-20 overall. She will make her hitters look good.
Samara Coleman OH (Pitt) Houston Skyline……Athletic and can play all the way around.
Underclassmen Up for MVP Consideration:
Finley Krystowiak OH WAVE……….We love her and the staff will also. All-around game and has the power to impress.
Brooke Harwood 2026 MB AZ Storm……Will be a top MB in the Class of 2026, and will need to show some flash to win MVP in this gym, but we think her block will open some eyes with voters.
Carsyn Comer 2027 MB Munciana…….Our Ascent last week this kid is dynamic and also not afraid to work and compete. She’s explosive and like we said you have to be special to shine in this gym.
Shaye Witherspoon 2027 OH Rockwood……FREAK athlete. Not so sure she isn’t the best OH in the entire gym. Shaye is our early pick for the #1 Class of 2027 she plays like a college upperclassman.
Malorie Boesiger 2027 Setter Nebraska One………Solid, cerebral, and steady. She’s a gym rat and will quickly adapt to the hitters she works with. She is just a student of the game. So STEADY
Our Picks for the Hardware:
Golden Ticket Winners:
Logan Parks Setter/Opp (Academic) MAVS…..Underrated again in the latest rankings. She just keeps proving people wrong. She’s a UA All-American and future NCAA All-American.
Teraya Sigler OH (Nebraska) AZ Storm…….She will stand above and beyond this group of 2025 OHs and will stick out like a neon sign in the gym on Friday
MVP’s
Keri Leimbach….She will be in consideration for a Libero spot come December and her energy will win her an MVP.
Finley Krystowiak……I’m telling you this kid has some serious game and a likeable attitude. Her all-around skills get her MVP.
Kenna Cogill……She will be the best MB in the 2025s group on Friday. She plays with a little flair and that always helps you stand out in a talented crowd.
Carsyn Comer…….SPECIAL. She has the vert, the technique, and the explosion, plus she LOVES to compete…….Our early #1 MB in the Class of 2027.
Shaye Witherspoon…….She might win a Golden Ticket if she sneaks into the 2025s group. Witherspoon is a GIFTED TALENT.
