The Prospect Report Day 1 from the NIT
We love saying we told you so…..Sanai Severloh-MB Forza 1 2027-
Mac talked about her during our Preview Show on Tuesday night and man oh man was she popular on Day 1 in KC. Playing on a deep Forza 1 Team with other college prospects Sanai was impressive Saturday. “Now that is a college athlete right there. Size and explosion that is a definite kid with the skill to play at the next level.” A B1G staffer commented on Saturday. “Look at her press elbows up and over on every block attempt”
Frankie Ramsdell Washington-MB Legacy PPV 156
As we anticipated Ramsdell-Washington is going to be making a jump with her PPV score. “She is stronger in person than she looks on film. She also moves better than we thought. A year with this team and it could mean a big jump for her. You could be looking at an athlete over 200 by June. Very solid prospect.” Big 12 former assistant
Tinsley Walker-Setter Houston Skyline PPV 226
“You can see next level in her. One look at how physically strong she is and she does have a quick release of the ball. She sees the court well and plays with the ball high so it is quick out of her hand.”
One of the bigger stories of the day was that Brynn Stephens-TAV OH PPV 223
Appears to have moved to OH full-time and will be focusing on that as she moves forward. We had talked about how great she looked attacking at Winter NTDP and that continued today in KC. “It might take her a little bit to get the full swing of being OH, but she looks really good and I think that is her natural college position. To us she is a Top 10 OH in the Class right away.” SEC staffer
Eva Jeffries-OH CITY Volleyball PPV 251
“We still just don’t know what to think about Jeffries. You look at her and think man this is a kid that should just dominate matches and is going to be a star at the next level, but we keep waiting to see her just take over matches. Obviously a very talented athlete, just trying to figure out that ceiling.” ACC admin
Shaye Witherspoon- OH Rockwood Thunder PPV 298
I heard from two different people today that Shaye showed the same maturity and growth in her game that I have talked about earlier this year when I interviewed her. That’s a huge sign because if she locks in the focus and can motivate herself on her own each match it’s a baddddddd thing for the rest of volleyball.
Aspen Brown-OPP Houston Skyline PPV 268
Brown has that Powder Keg approach, compact and explosive. “She is someone who will need to improve her first contact skills for the next level, but she does know how to score. She explodes and has a high contact point. She moves the ball well and she is athletic enough she can adapt to balls in the air.” ACC staffer
General Recruiting Notes and News:
Lots of heavy interest in the Legacy team today. Even though they didn’t play well they do have several pieces that will be on college rosters and several players that coaches are trying to figure out where they fit.
Look for McKenna McIntosh of Vision Volleyball to continue to get plenty of attention as coaches try to determine her “college fit”. She is a very productive club OH it will simply be a matter of determining how HIGH she can play at. We have always valued her in that 270-275ish PPV range.
Reagan Meyers OH PPV 188 for NE Premier had an impressive day as did her team going 3-0. College coaches will like her high contact point and ability to mix shots and she finds multiple ways to score for her team. Premier proving they deserved to be in the Power Pools and Meyers had a big day for herself.
Still interesting to watch the pack of middle blockers to see how the separate themselves. If anything I think word today was some came back to the pack and the only true standout is still Kendall with AZ Storm. Now that doesn’t mean there isn’t talent, because there is quite a bit of talent in this class, but no one has separated as consistently being the #2 prospect, etc. It’s still a big pack of 5-6.
Bunch more new teams to watch for first time tomorrow and Day 2 takes place. Stay tuned for more Prospect Reports as opinions start to get formulated on the Class of 2027.
