2027 Prospects Impressed with Rec Hall Atmosphere and Penn State W

2027 Prospects Impressed with Rec Hall Atmosphere and Penn State W

Penn State Takes Advantage of Unofficial Opportunity to IMPRESS Big-Time Prospects

With Nebraska coming to town and at least a share of the B1G Title on the line, Friday night’s match at Rec Hall already meant plenty for Penn State Volleyball.  The unofficial impact it made on some big-name 2027 prospects that made the trip could leave much longer.

At least four top  2027 prospects were able to make the trip to State College on Friday to watch Penn State knock off Nebraska as part of a raucous crowd at Rec Hall.  Olivia Henry (Outside Hitter PPV 289), Taylor Harrington (Middle Blocker PPV 255), Nejari Crooks (Opposite PPV 266), and Molly Robertson (Setter PPV 174) and we caught up with them this morning to see what they took away from the environment of the Top 5 matchup and the atmosphere inside Rec Hall.

Taylor Harrington, Middle Blocker, “It was AMAZING!! The match lived up to the Hype.  It was incredible volleyball, and the energy in Rec Hall was unreal.  PSU fans brought the noise.”

Nejari Crooks, Opposite, “I was so glad I could come up for the game! It was a great experience to see in person and not just watch on TV.  Seeing such great volleyball being played right in front of me was awesome.  What a great time!”

Molly Robertson, Setter with deep PSU ties, “The game and environment was incredible! It was standing room only inside the Rec Hall for warmups!  It was inspiring to watch the girls play with the intensity and the fight they had for every point.  There is NOTHING like seeing a top 5 matchup like that live, incredible.”

Olivia Henry, Outside Hitter IMG Academy, “The environment was electric.  It was so loud, which made the match even better.  I felt the competitive nature between the players on the court, which made it even more entertaining.  I had so much fun every second of the match.  It was so worth the trip.”  I also asked the highly rated Henry how her first semester at IMG has gone for her.  “Thank you for asking!  It has been an amazing experience so far.  I feel like I’m getting stronger and more exposed to great players.  The people around me help improve my game, and I’m excited to keep working for two more years.”

The night was an immediate WIN for the Nittany Lions program and could lead to a potential W or two come June.  Getting top prospects on campus to experience that environment is something you can’t recreate or make up in a camp or video and something they won’t soon forget.  We must see if the “Rec Hall Experience” pays off for the Penn State class 2027; stay tuned!!!  #WEARE
