Recruiting Update-July 11th: Gophers make big moves; Texas adds another

Another two weeks have passed in the Volleyball recruiting world, and with the last camps and USA Volleyball Nationals going on, we have big teams making big moves.

The most significant moves of the week came on Saturday when Minnesota landed two top hitters in Carly Gilk and Kelly Kinney. The two hitters were ranked 73 and 22 by PrepDig, respectively.

The SEC had a good couple of weeks that started with Texas acquiring Addison Gaido, a top hitter from Austin Skyline. Georgia added outside help in Alex Richter, while Auburn and LSU got their first recruits in right side Isabella Orton and Absolute’s Sanaa Donaie. Kentucky added Trinity Ward, an in-state Libero from KIVA.

Mid-major schools also got some girls to sign, with Wofford getting the Southern Conference its first recruit, landing Charlotte Bell. Brown got the IVY’s (interview soon to come) their first with Southern California middle Sarah Shaw. Long Beach State added Nebraska ONE’s, Anna Jelinek. Sam Houston recruited Carleigh Schluter, while WCC’s San Diego and Pepperdine received verbals from California liberos Lauren Lynch and Ryan Gilhooly.

In other moves, Indiana added PrepDig #22, Charlotte Vinson. Kansas State got Lauren Latham. Penn State got Lexi Gin from Munciana. Houston got a commit in a top 100 middle, Tara Greenberry, while Marquette, NC State, and Utah got their first commits with verbals from Jacksonville Skyline’s Amaria King, Wisconsin right-side Rebecca Ring, and Arizona Storm outside Devyn Wiest.
